Crete

Palace of Knossos (Heraklion)

Archaeological Museum of Heraklion (Heraklion)

The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is one of the largest and most important museums in Greece and in Europe as well. Its exhibits cover approximately 5,500 years of history that present the Minoan civilization almost in its entirety. The collection of Minoan antiquities is the most important in the world and the museum is considered the museum par excellence of the Minoan culture.

Samaria Gorge (Sfakia)

The Samaria Gorge is the most famous gorge of Crete and one of the largest in Europe. There is a wild goat, the endangered Kri-Kri species found only in Crete. Since 1981 it has been included in UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

Elafonissi (Chania)

Elafonisi is an exotic paradise with enchanting beauty and turquoise waters, fine white sand, tiny pink pieces of crushed shells, and beautiful coves. People from all over the world visit Elafonisi to see this dreamy landscape that "steals" the show. Elafonissi is a Natura 2000 protected area.

Fragokastello (Chania)

Fragokastello is a Medieval Castle and one of the most important attractions of the area. It is located in Chania and in front of it a long beach with sand dunes and crystal clear, warm waters is stretched.

Balos (Chania)

The famous Balos lagoon is considered not only one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece but also in the world as the white sand colors its waters in various shades of blue and turquoise. On the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas. Like other nearby areas, it is integrated in the Natura protection program, with rare species of flora and fauna.
