Plakias & Surroundings

Around Plakias there is a lot of natural beauty to discover: towering mountains, deep gorges, gushing springs, remote bays with crystal clear water. The Libyan Sea belongs to the cleanest of the Mediterranean Basin. You can have a swim in a different beach every day. The following equally attractive beaches can be easily reached from Oasis: Plakias beach, Damnoni, Ahmoudi, Skinaria, Korakas…. and of course the magical lagoon of Preveli, also called Palm Beach or Limni (= lake) Beach (see photos in our Photo Gallery).

You can enjoy wonderful views by driving (or walking) through the many mountain villages where tradition and local colour still prevails i.e. Myrthios, Selia, Mariou, Asomatos, etc. and be impressed by the imposing gorges of Kourtialoti and Kotsifou. The historical Monastery of Preveli and its museum are also worth visiting.
